Primitive Ash Bow

This asymmetrical bow is hand crafted from ash with a belly that has been fire hardened to resist compression and has a slight bit of character. It feels nice and light in the hand and shoots well, taking very little set after shooting about 100 arrows through the bow. It is a right-handed shooter and is 64″ nock to nock (about 66″ overall).  The draw weight is 38# at 28″ and should not be drawn past 28.” At 38# this is a great target bow, small game hunter (check you local regulations for minimum draw weight), or introductory bow for someone just getting started in traditional archery and trying to build good form. The handle wrap is made from chair maker’s cane and has beaver tail leather accents and strike plate. To note, the handle has a small cosmetic only drying crack that does not affect function or durability; it is covered by leather wrap. The arrow rest is topped with industrial strength Velcro and the string is made from B-50 dacron. The bow has been finished with a hand rubbed Tru-oil finish for durability. Simple, pure, primitive.
